Samuel Kimbrough (2007)
Samuel Kimbrough is a native of Greene County from the City of Eutaw, Alabama. He finished Carver High School in 1969 His journey in life started with his enrolling in Alcorn A&M College. After being drafted into the United States Army, that summer, he dropped out of school and waited to report to the service. A representative from Miles College visited his old high school to scout athletes and noticed his incredible talent and height. Samuel was recruited for the Miles College Golden Bears Basketball team. This meeting led him to the second part of his journey. He transferred to Miles College in 1972 and joined the Miles College Golden Bears Basketball team for three years. While on the team, the Golden Bears won three SIAC championships. During this time he finished Miles College with a Degree in Social Science. Since finishing Miles College, he has worked in the field of facilitated correction. He is currently working with the Department of Youth Services. This journey has been a long one, but rewarding. As he has helped numerous confused youths often seeking guidance and a friend, find the right path in life.
