Barbara "Bobbie" Knight

  President Knight has made the Miles College Athletic Program a strategic priority by attending both home and away events. Therefore, she stays connected with the student-athletes and coaching staff. Under her leadership, since 2019, the athletic teams have won numerous SIAC championships and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. She increased the athletics budget, contributed personally to program needs, and secured capital for key facility upgrades, including the football practice field and locker-room renovations. Drawing on her 37-year executive career at Alabama Power and experience on corporate and civic boards, she leveraged partnerships and fundraising to keep the Golden Bears competitive. These efforts have strengthened school spirit, enhanced the student-athlete experience, and elevated Miles College's profile.
