Bernard Kincaid (2016)
Bernard Kincaid was born in Birmingham, AL, and attended the Birmingham City School. After graduating from Western-Olin High School in 1962 he entered the United States Air Force and served his country until Honorably Discharged in 1966. Also in 1966, Bernard entered Miles College and became active in student life on campus by serving as President of the Student Government Association and President of Eta Epsilon Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He completed the requirements for graduation and received a B.A. Degree.
In pursuit of a higher education, he received the M.A. Degree from Miami University, Oxford, OH; Ph.D. Degree from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL; and Juris Doctorate, Birmingham School of Law. His church affiliation is Metropolitan CME Church, where he served as Trustee and sang in the Gospel Choir.
Bernard’s present an former community services are: Former Member Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (Beta Kappa Boule); Former Member Pratt-Ensley Kiwanis Club; Member Post 1165 American Legion; Leadership Birmingham; Leadership Alabama; Former Member Parent/Teacher Association EPIC Elementary School, W.J. Christian Middle School, and Ramsey High School; Member Miles College Alumni Association and Booster Club Member; Member Birmingham Park & Recreation Board since June 2011.
Professional Activities: Youth Counselor Social Security; Program Director, Operation Black Awareness Grant (UAB); Assistant Professor and Administrator, School of Health Professions, UAB.
Political Activities: Vice-President, Ensley Highlands Neighborhood Association; President, Ensley Highlands Neighborhood Association; Vice-President, Five Points West Community Association; Councilor, District 8 Birmingham City Council (1997-99); Mayor, City of Birmingham (1999-2007).
