Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams is the oldest of three boys who were all raised by their hardworking mother. Brandon began playing baseball at 7yrs old at Ruffner Road ballpark in Irondale. He eventually found himself at Shades Valley High School under the leadership of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame coach Dick Steed, where he lettered in baseball 3 years while playing all three outfield positions. Brandon was chosen to be on the All-Metro team his junior and senior years and received the All-State honorable mention his senior year.
Brandon graduated from high school in 2001 and entered Miles College the same year on a baseball scholarship. Brandon was coached by Kenneth Hatcher who he credits much of his spiritual and overall maturity as a person and baseball player. Upon arriving at Miles College, Brandon changed positions from the outfield to the infield as a second baseman and soon began to excel as a freshman for the next three years. Brandon led the team batting average his junior year with a .435 average over a 16 game hitting streak and named to the All-tournament team. The Golden Bears set a school record for the most wins in a season (2003) and ranked in the top 10 in black college baseball (2002-2005). The team finished second place in the SIAC Baseball tournament (2004). Brandon graduated from Miles with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.
Brandon currently is a teacher and high school football and track coach at Pell City High School. He is a member of Faith Chapel Christian Center and is involved in the recreation ministry and life groups at the church. Brandon plays baseball for the well-known semi-professional baseball team, Buck Village Stars located in Fairfield, AL. Brandon gives all honor and glory to God almighty and realizes that he is nothing and could not accomplish anything without him.
