Chasity S. Phillips
Chasity S. Phillips was born in Quitman, Ga., Growing up she always enjoyed sports. Her father was one of the top players in basketball and football, so as a young child she was introduced to sports. She was a shy child, so when she played sports it helped her become more confident when it came to meeting other people. Through the years of junior high and high school, she played basketball, softball, and track.
She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1995, she was offered a scholarship to play basketball at center and power forward on the Golden Bears team under Coach Williams. She became the number one rebounder the first three years. Also, she decided to play volleyball, softball, and run track.
Chasity graduated from Miles College in 2001 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She returned home and currently employed by the Thomas County Fire Department, Thomasville Ga. She’s one of three African-American female Firefighter in the County.
Her community involvement: Working with schools talking about fire prevention. Working as a mentor helping kids in schools and helps her church with the Summer Youth Programs. She a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. She’s blessed with being a student at Miles College.
