Christopher Whisenhunt (2013)
Christopher Whisenhunt graduated from Mcintosh High School with the class of 1994, and accepted academic and athletic scholarships to attend Miles College. During his playing years on the Golden Bears football team under Head Coach Cecil Leonard, Whisenhunt was a four year starter in the position of running back, and served as Special Teams Captain as a freshman and sophomore in the 1994 and 1995 seasons. In his junior and senior seasons, Chris Whisenhunt was chosen as the team’s Leading Rusher and he was recognized by the Southern intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) as its recipient of the Most Outstanding Offensive Back Award for two consecutive seasons. Chris Whisenhunt is also proud to be part of the team that brought Miles College its first winning season in over ten years and restore it to a position as one of the top teams in the SIAC. Christopher Whisenhunt credits the hard work, dedication and sacrifices made at Miles College to his success. He graduated from Miles College in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He continued his education at Troy University earning an MBA degree. Christopher Whisenhunt is currently employed as a Senior Financial Officer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Medicine. He enjoys referring and coaching youth football, and he sees his role as trying to develop character in kids. He has worked with community events sponsored by organizations including the PTA, the United Way, Kaboom, and with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), a group that offers free tax help for people in need. Christopher Whisenhunt is married to Jennefer, another Miles College alumnus. They have two sons, Justin and Jalen. Christopher Whisenhunt strives to exemplify and uphold the standards that make Miles College and his family proud. He is committed to working with other members of the Miles College Sports Hall of Fame to sustain that organization, and will forever show his support, love and dedication to the great institution of Miles College.
