DARRIN “SWAC” MCALLISTER (2011)
Darrin “SWAC” McAllister became a valued member of the Miles College Golden Bears Football Team in 1991, after transferring from the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff. Under head coaches Ronald Cook and Anthony Colvin, Mr. McAllister became a starter as wide receiver and a team captain. In his sophomore season, Mr. McAllister was one of the leading pass catchers. In his junior season, Darrin McAllister was a starter and led the team in catches until suffering a torn ACL in the final game. Mr. McAllister came back from that injury to lead the team in catches in his senior year. After leaving Miles College, Darrin McAllister began a long career of community involvement through law enforcement. He was a police officer in the Fairfield Police Department for three years, and then joined the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics as a Narcotics Agent. The experience gained in these positions led to his accepting a position as a detective with the Pontiac Michigan Police Department. He retired from law enforcement in 2011. Darrin McAllister continues to contribute to college sports as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
