Eric J. Stokes 2024
Eric Stokes graduated from A.H Parker High in 1994 and accepted a football scholarship to Miles College. He was a four year starter on the football team under Head Coach Cecil Leonard in the position of Running back from 1994-1998 leading the team in rushing and touchdowns for two consecutive years. He also led the team in yard on kickoff and punt return. He was recognized by the SIAC as the freshman of the year (1994) and All-Conference (1994-1995 seasons). Eric was an integral part of the team that brought Miles College its first winning season in over ten years and restored Miles as one of the top teams in the SIAC.
Stokes graduated from Miles in 1998 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education and began teaching in the Birmingham City School system. He later accepted a position with Honda Manufacturing of Alabama and worked 20 years until retirement. Eric now works with the Alabama Department of Youth Services as an Educator. He is married to Adrienne, another Miles College alumnus and they have four children and
reside in Adamsville, Alabama.
