Under Coach/AD Watson, Miles College has achieved historic milestones. He guided the men's basketball team to 3 SIAC Conference championships and 6 Western Division titles in 7 seasons. He participated in 4 NCAA Regional Tournaments in 6 seasons. Coach Watson earned 3 SIAC Coach of the Year Awards. Each of his teams has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
As AD, the Golden Bears Football team won a record number of games, in a season, in school history, advanced to the NCAA Regionals and secured the first NCAA Regional win in school history. Appointed Coach Asmond, who led the women's basketball program to its first ever SIAC championship, followed by back-to-back titles and two NCAA Regionals. Recruited Coach Barney, who captured the Division II HBCU National Championship in baseball, the first in school history. Retained Coach Smoot, who delivered a SIAC Golf Championship during AD Watson's tenue.
