JOE JESTER (2011)
Joe Jester received a full scholarship to Miles College in 1966 after a high school career that included participation in the football, basketball and track teams. Mr. Jester served as a quarterback and running back on the Golden Bears football team for three years under head coaches Papa Knox and Arthur Wilkins. A fast runner, Joe Jester led the team in rushing yards and touchdowns in 1966 and 1967 and scored three touchdowns covering over 250 years in the team’s first game in 1966; He was voted Team MVP that year. Joe Jester is now retired and coaches little league football and basketball. He faithfully serves on the Usher Board at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia.
