John B. Hayden Jr. (2012)
John B. Hayden, Jr came to Miles College in 1973 as an athletic scholarship student and was a member of the baseball and football teams. Under the leadership of Coaches Pete Wilkins, Jim Holifield and Earl Cheatham, Mr. Hayden played as a pitcher on the baseball team and as tight end and defensive end on the football team. John Hayden, Jr. was ranked first in the graduating class of 1977, earning a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Mr. Hayden used the skills and education he obtained at Miles College to pursue several business ventures in real estate, agriculture and commercial property. He has been a member of the baseball time for the fire department, and he serves his community by providing fresh vegetables and fruit to elderly residents. He is also the proud father of three daughters. John Hayden, Jr. recalls his playing days at Miles College as a time where he gave all he had to the games he loved to play.
