Konard Yancie

​Charles was a 3-year starter and 3-year captain for the Golden Bears. He was selected as the most valuable defensive player his sophomore year, when he led the team in interceptions and was second on the team in tackles. He was the defensive player of the game in the 2003 Steel City Classic and participated in the HBCU All Star Game.

  Konard was a four-year starter at corner back. He was the most outstanding defensive back following his freshman year. His junior and senior year, he led the team in interceptions, while leading the conference in interceptions his senior year. He earned 2nd team all conference his junior year and honorable mention his senior year. He served as the team captain in both his junior and senior year.
