Lovell T. Willis Sr. (2012)

Lovell T. Willis, Sr. accepted a scholarship from Miles College and joined the football and track teams. Under the leadership of Coaches Wade Streeter, Malcolm McCany, Conley Langford and Greg Scott, Mr. Willis played as a right offensive lineman on the football team from 2001 to 2005. Lovell Willis, Sr. won many awards through his performance on the gridiron, including recognition as top offensive lineman in the 2003-2004 seasons, and top co-offensive lineman in 2004-2005 seasons. Mr. Willis also attended the first H.B.C.U. All-Star Game. Lovell Willis, Sr. helps with the Bessemer City High School Summer Workout events and coaches his son’s youth football team. Lovell Willis, Sr. gave his all on the field for Miles College, pushing himself and his teammates towards their united goal: winning the championship.
