Melvin Howell

Melvin attended Miles College from 1979 to 1983 on an athletic scholarship. While attending Miles, he lettered in baseball under coaches Larry Brown and Ronald Cook. Melvin played first-base and four years starter. He received All Academic Award in 1981 with a 3.5 GPA. Melvin was selected to First Team All SIAC in 1981 and highest Batting Average of 3.45 in 1980 and served as Captain of the team in 1981 and 1982 seasons.
