Nathaniel Skipwith Jr (2013)
Reverend Nathaniel Skipwith Jr., is grateful to Miles College for providing him an opportunity to obtain an education and chance to play college baseball, the sport he loves. A scholarship recipient, Mr. Skipwith played the positions of short stop, pitcher and catcher on the Miles College baseball team coached by Arthur Pete Wilkins. Mr. Skipwith’s athletic skills were noticed, and he was chosen by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) on the All- Conference Second Team in 1976; he was elected by SIAC as Defensive Player of the Year in 1976, as well. Reverend Nathaniel Skipwith Jr., graduated from Miles College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is a full time substitute teacher and Basketball Coach at Pleasant Grove High School. He also previously served as Basketball Coach at Daphne High School in Pensacola, Florida. Reverend Nathaniel Skipwith Jr., is the Pastor at the Greater St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Bessemer, Alabama. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Mr. Skipworth gives his time by working with youth and young adults. He loves working with our youth. Reverend Nathaniel Skipwith Jr., loves Miles College, he support and attends as many of its football and baseball games as he can. Reverend Skipwith vows that he will continue to be a Milean always.
