Neonta Williams (2012)
Neonta Williams speaks glowingly of her years at Miles College. From her first visits as a high school junior, Ms. Williams believed Miles College offered exactly what she needed: a family environment that nurtured, fed, matured and met her needs, as a first generation college attendee. Neonta Williams received an athletic scholarship from Miles College along with a UNCF Academic Scholarship; she participated in the basketball, volleyball and cross-county track teams and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Ms. Williams played under head coaches Eric Lee, McKinley “Paper Sack” Young and Anthony Colvin. She was chosen as “Most Improved” player. The student body selected Neonta Williams as First Attendant to Miss Miles College. A graduate school student, Neonta Williams treasures each experience at Miles College. She is proud to have earned her undergraduate degree from such a prestigious Historically Black College.
