Quintin J. Moss, Sr. (2012)
Quintin J. Moss, Sr. is a Miles College graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986. He was also a member of the Miles College Golden Bears football team that won the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (“SIAC”) championship in the 19841985 seasons. A four-year starter playing in the position of linebacker, Quintin Moss, Sr. was selected All-Conference Linebacker in SIAC Division II in 1985. He was also recognized as Outstanding Linebacker in the 1985-1986 football seasons. After college, Quintin Moss, Sr. secured employment with the United States Postal Service, and now has 20 years of service. He continued to play competitive sports as a member of the Bessemer Renegades Softball Team. Mr. Moss has been involved in coaching youth baseball and football teams at the A. G. Gaston Boys Club. He also coached the Bessemer Tigers Little League baseball team and his guidance helped lead them to a league championship. Quintin J. Moss, Sr. serves on the Board of Trustees of the 22nd Avenue Baptist Church, and he is the proud father of daughters Sequoia and Kayla and a son, his namesake, Quinton J. Moss, Jr. Quinton J. Moss, Sr. is a sterling addition to the Miles College Sports Hall of Fame.
