Robert W. Blevins 2024
Robert Blevins born January 3, 1957 I started playing baseball at the age of 6. I attended Midfield High School where I played Baseball for 4 years. At the age of 16 I played with the Industrial League until the age of 40 At Midfield High School I was a letter man all four years and voted Team Captain in the tenth grade. Also I was the first black baseball player at Midfield High School. In my senior year I was offered a scholarship to Lawson State to play baseball. The program was dropped after my first year, and Coach Pete Wilkins offered me a scholarship to Miles College. I played third base and in my second year I was voted MVP by then coach Larry Brown. I finished second in the SIAC Conference with a batting Average of 458. I was injured in my 3rd Year and didn’t return to Miles.
I then started to Coach Fairfield Police Athletic Teams in Girls Softball, Boys/Girls Basketball, and Boys Baseball. I coach Fairfield PAT for about 14 years. After baseball I begin to work in the Church and is an Ordained Minister. I am the Founder of Reading With Confidence a tutoring program featuring PACE and Master Code. This program targets Cognitive Skills such as long term/short term memory as well as focuses on Reading and Math.
