Tepedric Clemons-Hill (2007)
Tepedric Clemons-Hill is a native of Albany, Georgia. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lamar, Sr. and the wife of Mr. Samuel Hill Sr. She has one daughter, Jordane Hill. Mrs. Clemons-Hill was educated in the public schools of Albany, GA. She is a 1988 graduate of Monroe Comprehensive High School. While attending Monroe Mrs. Clemons-Hill received numerous awards as a student athlete. She was a member of the school’s student council and honor society. She was named MVP of the Lady Tornadoes Basketball Team during her junior and senior years of high school. She was named to the Region 1-AAA All Region team her senior year. Upon graduating, Mrs. Clemons-Hill received a scholarship to attend Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama.
As a student at Miles College, Mrs. Clemons-Hill received many accolades for her outstanding performance in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. Mrs. Clemons-Hill was a four-year honor student while matriculating at Miles College. She also won several writing and poetry contests. She was named SGA President in 1991-1992 and served as a member of the Miles College Board of Trustees. Mrs. Hill was the school’s first recipient of the Knox-Windham Student Athlete of the Year Award in (1992). Mrs. Clemons-Hill was a member of the Miles College Chorus and gospel choirs. She graduated Cum Laude in 1992 with a BA in English. Because of the quality education Mrs. Clemons-Hill received while attending Miles College, she was awarded a full academic fellowship to Pittsburgh State University to obtain her Masters Degree. While a student at Pittsburgh State University, Mrs. Clemons-Hill was active in organizing the school’s African American Student Government. And, she formed the school’s first gospel choir. She received her Master’s in 1993.
Mrs. Clemons-Hill is currently an English teacher at Monroe Comprehensive High School in Albany Georgia where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2003. She has also been named "Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers" fifteen times. Mrs. Clemons-Hill was recognized by Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox and House Representative Winfred Dukes for her outstanding contributions to public education in the State of Georgia.
