TERRY G. PRIOR (2011)
After Terry G. Prior graduated from Choppee High School in Georgetown, South Carolina, he accepted an athletic scholarship to Miles College. Mr. Prior was part of the Golden Bears football and baseball teams for four years. He was a nose guard defensively and left guard on offense for the football team, as well as team captain. Mr. Prior was an outfielder on the baseball team. Coaches Smith, Barkrum, Colvin, R. Cook and W. Patterson guided him. Terry Prior’s accomplishments did not end on the sports fields. He made the Dean’s List and was named SGA Vice President in 1993 and 1994. Since leaving college, Terry Prior has continued his devotion to Miles College as a member of the Booster Club and the Alumni Association. He has done volunteer work at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the Big Brother Programs and as a Miles College Mentor. Terry Prior also served in the Lt. Governor’s Division of the Kiwanis Club and was chosen as Man of the Year by his fraternity, the Alpha Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. Terry Prior is eager to expand his activities in support of Miles College and to be an asset to the Miles College Sports Hall of Fame.
