Willie James Lee (2007)
James Lee served with distinction in the United States Army with a tour of duty in Korea. After an honorable discharge, he enrolled in Miles College in 1961, graduating with a B.A. Degree in Sociology in 1965. During his attendance at Miles College, he was a stellar basketball player. Since graduating from Miles college in 1965, he entered the corporate world, with careers in recruiting, marketing and management with the New York State Labor Department, IBM and Xerox Corporation, respectively, in Buffalo and Rochester, New York and Dallas, Texas until 1982. In 1982, he entered the world of business ownership with a recruiting and placement company and as a word processing training school owner. He later became an NFL sports agent and advisor and later opened an office products and supplies business in 1989 with the White House as one of his largest customers. Today, he is constructing affordable single family homes in Houston, Texas with his nephew, Westley Hopkins, former professional football player with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. He is also engaged in contracts discussions with the Democratic Republic of Congo to redevelop and economically build that county’s infrastructure. He is married to the former Elnora Buford of Fairfield, (a 1961 Miles College graduate), and has one son. He resides in Alpharetta, Georgia.
