Yancy D. Williams Sr. (2007)
Yancey D. Williams, Sr. graduated from A. H. Parker High School in 1987 and spent six and a half years in the United States Navy. After traveling the world, in the summer of 1995, Yancey enrolled at Miles College and from 1995 - 1997, he was a faithful Golden Bear football player. Having been coached by Cecil Leonard at both Parker and Miles, it took strength and hard work to earn a position on the team. As a member of the football team, Yancey was able to meet people who eventually would become lifelong friends. Miles College also gave him the opportunity to meet his wife of ten years, Tracey. In May of 1997, Yancey had yet another joyous occasion to graduate with his wife and mother with a degree in Secondary Education. Yancey is an assistant principal with the Birmingham City Schools. Currently, he is working on his PH.D in Educational Leadership, with a focus on Urban Studies. He is married to Tracey Chambliss Williams and is the father of Alexis (13) and Yancey II (6).
